How might we virtually orient college students to campus and academics?

A "hub-and-spoke" structured learning experience allows for learners to explore on their own, while ensuring they don't get "lost".
Fun fact: Disneyland and the city of Paris were designed using a hub-and-spoke model. This ensures that visitors can explore without being afraid of getting lost because they can always locate the central place (in the case of Disneyland, the hub is the castle).
Learners can explore a virtual field trip of campus by going to areas that interest them and gathering resources that will be helpful on their journeys.
Through their inputs, learners end up creating an academic plan. This records the units they will need to graduate, their weekly schedule, and their milestones.
To integrate a learning transfer strategy, it was a requirement that learners download their plans and bring them to their first 1-1 with their advisors.
Due to the success of the first version, I got to design a mobile-friendly, pre-orientation learning experience to further prepare students for university life.
Designing mobile microlearnings seems easy at first, but it’s a real challenge. Using a character to facilitate, simple UI elements, and only including necessary content can make it easier.
